Muskoka Summer Hockey School has become a staple for many families vacationing in one of the most beautiful places on the planet. With over 30 years of experience, the staff at MSHS has refined a product which fosters a love of hockey with an emphasis on developing and improving core skills. The Graeme Murray arena and the YMCA complex offer some of the most outstanding recreational facilities in the region and we are sure your young hockey star will love their experience! Parents, don’t miss out on our annual Silent Auction! NHL, NHLPA, Toronto Maple Leafs and local community businesses donate many incredible prizes. All proceeds to The Children’s Foundation of Muskoka.
A Message From Mike Fountain
“I was raised in Muskoka and always look forward to coming back to visit family and friends. My years of experience playing in the NHL, a pro career in Russia, and now coaching and managing under the hockey USA program in Grand Rapids, Michigan, I feel I will be bringing a fresh new direction on hockey instruction at the Muskoka Summer Hockey School. I look forward to seeing you in August, 2017!”
Mike’s Hockey Career Highlights
- Played Minor hockey in Gravenhurst, Ontario until the age of 15.
- Joined the Huntsville Junior C team in 1988/89, was named Rookie of the Year and made the All Star Team.
- Played for the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds and the Oshawa Generals in the OHL. In 1992 was named to the OHL first team All Stars, and represented Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championships.
- Selected by the Vancouver Canucks in 1992 and is the 19th goalie in the history of the NHL to record a shut-out in his first game.
